Rome Police Officer Mike Simmons retires after 30 years of service

The Rome Police Department is pleased to share with the community that after 30 years of service Officer Mike Simmons has retired. Officer Simmons spent many loyal years serving the community in the capacity as a patrol officer and a motorcycle officer.

Officer Simmons started his career with the Rome Police Department in 1989 where he served as a patrol officer. He served as a Field Training Officer for several years before joining the motorcycle squad. Officer Simmons trained many officers who went on to become ranking members of the department.

We are proud of all that Officer Simmons accomplished while he served with us and wish him only the best in his next chapter. If you see Officer Simmons around town, make sure to thank him for his dedicated service. We will certainly miss him around the station.
