(WEIS Radio Reports) A Cherokee County resident was placed under arrest Wednesday night for a violation of the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act.
Twenty-eight-year-old Cody William Steed, who is listed on that arrest report as being from Gaylesville was booked in at the Cherokee County Detention just before 9:00 pm and he was released approximately an hour later after posting a bond of $2,500.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website has a database containing all of the registered sex offenders currently residing in the county, and according to that database, Steed resides at 879 County Road 475 in Centre.
The charge leading to his being required to register as a sex offender was Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 Years of Age.
