Gordon County Coroner’s Office releases the names of the victims killed in Aircraft Crash

Gordon County Coroner’s Office –

The Gordon County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the victims killed in the Cessna Aircraft that crashed Saturday in a heavily wooded area off Mauldin Road in Fairmount:

Roy Smith, 68 yrs

Morgen Smith, Male, 25 yrs

Savannah Sims, 23 yrs

Raymond Sluk, 63 yrs

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted the Gordon County Coroner’s Office in identifying the victims.

According to the report from the Aviation Safety Network:

“A Cessna 501 Citation I/SP crashed in a remote wooded area near Fairmount, Georgia, USA. There were no survivors.
The flight departed Atlanta-Peachtree City Falcon Field, Georgia, USA, at 09:49 local time, bound for Nashville.
An air traffic control transmission captured by LiveATC.net contains a radio call from ‘one romeo gulf’ reporting problems with the left hand attitude indicator. The autopilot was disconnected and the aircraft was then flown manually from the right-hand seat.”

The Cessna 501 Citation departed from Falcon Field in Peachtree City at around 9:45 a.m. en route to Nashville, Tennessee.
