Floyd County Schools announces Kindergarten Round Up

NEWS RELEASE

In August, Pre K students will begin kindergarten where they will continue to grow and learn at an amazing speed! Floyd County Schools (FCS) would like to extend an invitation to any Pre K aged child not currently enrolled in FCS Pre K classes to participate in Kindergarten Round Up on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

Parents will bring their child to the FCS school of their choice where a school staff member will screen the child’s readiness skills in order to plan for the child’s Kindergarten education. While there, parents will receive important information about registration requirements including online registration and required documents, though they are not required in order to participate in Kindergarten Round Up.

Who

Children who plan to enroll in Floyd County Schools for Kindergarten the upcoming 2020-2021 school year who are NOT currently enrolled in FCS Pre K classes.

Age Requirement: Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2020.

Out of District Students: Students who do not live in the attendance zone for the school will need to complete an Out of District form available at each school. Principals will notify parents of Out of District decisions.
