City commission to get COVID-19 update, consider speed detection cameras Monday

Floyd County Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Herrington will discuss the community’s emergency response preparedness in response to COVID-19 during the Rome City Commission’s caucus Monday.

The caucus begins at 4 p.m., prior to the commission’s regular meeting at 6:30.

During the regular meeting, the commission will consider approval of a contract with RedSpeed USA for speed detection cameras for Rome High/Rome Middle school zone on Veteran’s Memorial Highway.

The agreement will be for 60 months, and would be automatically extended for up to five additional one year periods.

However, the city may terminate the agreement after any term.
