20-year-old Rome Man is being charged with with Involuntary Manslaughter

 A 20-year-old Rome man is being charged with with involuntary manslaughter after an accidental shooting involving a 19-year-old in apartment on Magnolia Avenue Sunday morning.

According to Floyd County Jail Records, Cameron Andrew Thornton (of a South Sycamore SW address), was allegedly playing with a gun with victim, James Triston Williams when the incident occurred.

While they were reportedly playing around, Thornton had the gun pointed at William’s chest and accidentally discharged the weapon:  There were several witnesses present at the time.

He is being charged with Reckless Conduct, Possession of a firearm during commission of/attempt to commit certain felonies.

Thornton, being a previously convicted felon, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
