(Via WEIS Radio) Hundreds of people drove past health care facilities in Centre on Friday evening to show their support for frontline workers during the COVID-19 health crisis.

The parade, organized by First Baptist Church of Centre, started at the church’s Recreational Outreach Center and passed by Cherokee County Health & Rehab Center and Floyd Cherokee Medical Center.

The Sheriff’s Office and Centre Police Department led the way with sirens on and blue lights flashing. Many of those in the parade waved flags and signs of support for medical personnel working during the pandemic.

In a social media post, the church said: “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to those in our community who make sacrifices every day while serving on the frontlines during this pandemic. Our community wants to show you our gratitude by putting on a special parade in your honor.”
