According to the Georgia Forestry Commission the Asian Giant Hornet (aka “murder hornet”) has NOT been spotted in GA.

The University of Georgia’s Bugwood Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health put together this list of similar looking critters to help curb any misinformation or panic associated with the popular topic of the “Murder Hornets” invasive introduction to the united states.

“The Asian Giant Hornet has been in the news, and we’ve received calls and emails about it. To help out, we’ve worked with Entomologists to create AGH materials, including this Southeast Lookalikes guide! It has not been found in the Southeastern US, but there are many similar species that look like it.”
