Charges filed in wreck that killed two in April

A Lindale man has been charged in a wreck that claimed the lives of two people back on April 21.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 36-year old Ronnie William Barker is charged with two misdemeanor counts of homicide by vehicle, one count of failure to maintain a lane, and a felony count of possession of methamphetamine.

The Georgia State Patrol said that Barker’s vehicle crossed the center line on Redmond Circle at West Butler Street and struck another vehicle head-on.

Two occupants of the other vehicle, 51-year old Valarie Watts and 18-year old Antwan Jamerson were killed.

A third occupant, 49-year old Thomas Watts, was injured.

The arrest warrant states that Barker was found in possession of methamphetamine during the investigation into the wreck.
