Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

July 14, 2020–12:57 a.m.

STAFF REPORTS

A packed agenda awaits Floyd County Commissioners when they meet this evening.

The commission will consider the approval of a budget for a COVID-19 marketing plan.

During a joint city/county meeting last week, the county commissioners in attendance indicated support for a public education effort to encourage the wearing of face coverings in public instead of mandating masks, which could be difficult to enforce in the county.

The creation of two new positions at Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services and transfers of land to the Land Bank Authority is also on the agenda, along with First Reading regarding the FY2020 Millage Rate and an FY19 audit presentation.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

The pre-meeting caucus starts at 4 p.m.
