[VIDEO] Floyd County Commission Approves Plan for Law Enforcement Pay Increase

The Floyd County Board of Commissioners met on July 24th at the Rome Forum River Center for a session to discuss a plan to increase law enforcement compensation by October 1st 2020.

Floyd County Commissioner Scotty Hancock had this to say about the topic:

“I think its time that we defend our police and fund our police, instead of talking about defunding our police. Its time to give them a refund for what they have to put up with.”

In order to be able to afford the pay increase, there was talk of increasing the millage rate in the county, and the final decision for those rates would be decided by the commission later (by August 5).
