STAFF REPORTS

The Floyd County Board of Elections has reprimanded Elections Chief Robert Brady for his conduct during the last board meeting on August 18

The reprimand stemmed from an exchange between Brady and resident Larry Morrow regarding absentee ballots.

During the public comment section of that meeting, Morrow asked when absentee ballots for the November election would be available.

He was told by Elections Chief Robert Brady they would be ready prior to October 12.

Morrow responded by saying the Georgia Secretary of State’s office lists a date of September 15.

Brady then asked Morrow more than once “Have you seen a ballot?” adding that they hadn’t been printed yet.

Brady then said  the absentee ballots would be mailed out as soon as they are available but he did not know when that would be.

According to the Rome News-Tribune, Brady apologized for his conduct during Thursday’s meeting and stated, upon reflection, he realized that he was being openly rude.

He said it’s his intention to not let it happen again.
