Another Floyd County resident dies from COVID-19

GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported Wednesday that another Floyd County resident has died from COVID-19.

The latest death brings the total to 33 since March.

Floyd County has seen 2,343 positive tests since the start of the pandemic, 367 of those in the last two weeks.

Gordon County also saw another death in Wednesday’s report, for a total of 31.

In addition, Gordon County is now at 1,549 total cases, 144 in the last two weeks.

Bartow County is at 2,479 cases, 313 in the last two weeks.

72 Bartow County residents have died from the virus.

Chattooga County has seen 593 cases, 190 in the last two weeks, and six deaths total.

Polk County is at 1,236 total cases.  203 of those reported in the past two weeks.

15 Polk County residents have died from Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

Georgia as a whole is now at 274,613 cases with 2,021 new cases being reported on Wednesday.

The 68 deaths listed in Wednesday’s report brings that total to 5,795.
