FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 37-year old Rome man is facing charges of conspiracy to tamper with evidence and participation in a criminal street gang.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Scotty Joel Venable, who police say is a member of the “Ghost Face Gangsters,” conspired with Lavanda Venable, who was arrested earlier this week, to delete incriminating evidence after he was served with a search warrant for his cell phone.

Lavanda Venable reportedly used Scotty Venable’s Facebook page to obtain an image which could be utilized to unlock one of his mobile devices.

That mobile device was then used to delete the evidence from a social media platform.

Scotty Venable was already in jail, having been arrested on September 16 on drug trafficking charges.
