STAFF REPORTS

Assistant Rome City Manager Patrick Eidson has announced that he will be leaving at the end of the year.

Eidson has accepted the assistant city manager’s job in Carrollton.

“The opportunity is really a great one,” he said.  “They have a wonderful community, a great city council, a great city manager in Tim Grizzard, and the opportunity really presented itself over the last 60 days. It really is a good fit.  I’m an alumnus of the State University of West Georgia, now the University of West Georgia, so I have some really great memories there and I still have some roots in the community.”

Eidson said the decision to leave Rome was bittersweet.

“I love Rome, it’s a great community, but Carrollton has a special place in my heart.” He said.  “I knew that if I ever got that opportunity, it would be something I would jump at.”

Eidson has been the assistant city manager in Rome since September of 2014.

His last day will be December 31 and he will start his new job in Carrollton in January.
