More information from the Rome Police Department on the shooting incident has been released:

On Wednesday December the 23rd, the Rome police department was dispatched to Floyd Medical Center in reference to a subject who had been shot.

According to the Rome Police Department, the shooting occurred at 2039 Maple Ave (in the area of the Sunoco Gas Station).

At the hospital, the victim’s father, advised Police that he had been awoken by his son entering his residence who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim told family members that a man named “Gold Mouth” had shot him at the Sunoco – the victim also told his father that a black Nissan, and two other males from Atlanta had been present at the Gas Station at the time of the shooting.

The victim’s father also advised that he observed that his son’s vehicle had three bullet holes in it. After initially refusing, the victim was taken by family members to Floyd Medical Center.

The victim’s father gave Police three spent 9mm shell casings, of which he said were recovered from the Sunoco parking lot by the victim’s mother. The shell casings will be submitted into evidence at the Rome Police Department.

Rome Police then followed up with Sunoco Gas Station clerk, who advised that two white males started arguing and then fighting inside the game room of the store. The clerk advised that someone tried to break them up, and that the two white males eventually went outside.

The clerk also stated that about 3-4 minutes later, he heard a loud noise outside that he thought was a car backfiring. The Clerk then called 911 and said that a white male was outside “Collecting bullets where someone got shot.” According to the Clerk, the White male came inside and told him he would come back with a gun to figure things out (the male then left with an unknown direction of travel).
