Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $2.16 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 6 cents more than a week ago, 16 cents more than last month, and 29 cents less than this time last year.

It now costs motorists $32.40 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that is $4.50 less than what motorists paid in January of 2020 when pump prices hit their peak of $2.46 per gallon.

According to Montrae Waiters with AAA, if total domestic crude supply continues to drop, crude prices could continue to increase and push pump prices higher.

Local averages on Monday were $2.11 in Floyd County, $2.18 in Bartow County, $2.16 in Gordon County, $2.15 in Polk County, and $2.20 in Chattooga County.
