COVID-19 status report for January 21

Another 10 Northwest Georgia residents have now died from COVID-19, six of those deaths were Floyd County residents.

According to the Wednesday report from the Georgia Department of Public Health, Floyd County is now at 129 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Bartow County is at 141 deaths up by one from Tuesday’s report.

Gordon County also reported another death for a total of 72.

56 Polk County residents have now died from the virus, up by one from Tuesday.

And Chattooga County is now at 49 deaths, up by two from the day before.

As far as new cases go, Floyd County reported 64 from Tuesday to Wednesday, Bartow County had 76, Gordon County saw 38, Polk County had 25 and Chattooga County reported 15 new cases.

Statewide, we are at 695,400 total cases, up by 5,722 from the previous day.

There were 149 more confirmed deaths for a total of 11,411 since late February.
