STAFF REPORTS

A Georgia State Senate subcommittee has voted to advance a bill to end no excuse absentee voting.

The legislation limits absentee voting to those over the age of 75, those with a doctor’s note and people who are out of town.

The vote was 3-2 along party lines.

The bill now moves on to the Ethics Committee.

Another bill, also passing by a 3-2 vote, would require absentee voters to submit a photocopy of their ID, a driver’s license number or other state ID number when they request their ballot.
