A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Thursday morning for portions of Northwest Georgia, including Floyd, Gordon, Bartow, Chattooga, and Polk Counties.

Significant rainfall is expected for Northwest Georgia for the next 12 hours.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding.

Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

A Flood Warning continues for the Chattooga River near Summerville.
