First-time claims for unemployment insurance were up in Floyd County last month.
According to the Georgia Department of Labor, 1,260 Floyd County residents filed initial claims in March, compared to 944 in February.
However, the number of claims was down from the 3,764 in March of 2020.
Gordon and Bartow County also had more claims over the month but less than this time last year.
Jobless claims were down over the month and the year in Polk and Chattooga Counties.
