Floyd County High School Students Win at 2020-2021 State Literary Competition

Floyd County Schools –

Six Floyd County high school students strongly represented their schools and district at the Georgia High School Association’s 2020-2021 A-Public and AA State Literary Championships at Georgia Military College this past Saturday. In their respective classifications, four of the region winners placed at the state level! Pepperell High School’s team placed fourth overall for AA.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • 1st in Argumentative Essay: Caleb Hammond (AHS)

  • 1st in Boys Solo: Carter Nelson (PHS)

  • 1st in Girls Solo: Trisha Dobson (PHS)

  • 2nd in Rhetorical Essay: Ethan McGhee (AHS)

“This is a historic moment for Floyd County Schools and our fine arts programs,” said FCS Superintendent Dr. Glenn White. “We are extremely proud of our three state champions!”
