May 31, 2021–7:41 p.m.

NEWS RELEASE

The City of Rome and Floyd County has kicked off a new project: “Rome – Floyd Unified Development Code”.  The goal of this effort to update and simplify the City and County’s Unified Land Development Code (also referred to as the “Code”). The public will have several opportunities to get engaged and participate in the process, starting with the Community Kickoff Event on June 15. Citizens are encouraged to attend to learn about the goals of the Rome – Floyd Unified Development Code project and to share ideas for the future.

During the process, consultants from Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative, LLC (TPUDC) will be assisting the City and County with the project.  The final result will be a document that is understandable and implementable, and that helps the community achieve the goals set forth in the Rome-Floyd Cave Spring 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

Taking into account concerns around COVID-19, the Kickoff event will be held both in-person and virtually.
