The City of Rome and Floyd County are beginning the process of updating and simplifying the Unified Land Development Code and the community is invited to a kickoff event Tuesday night.
Citizens are encouraged to attend to learn about the goals of the ULDC project and to share ideas for the future.
The kickoff event will be held from 6:30m until 8:30 p.m. at the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill.

During the process, consultants from Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative, LLC will be assisting the City and County with the project.
Officials say the final result will be a document that is understandable and implementable, and that helps the community achieve the goals set forth in the Rome-Floyd Cave Spring 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
