Cartersville Police arrest 2 for Carjacking

The Carterville Police Department –

On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 11:18 A.M., the Carterville Police Department received a report of a carjacking that occurred in the area of Fairview Street and North Tennessee Street. Later this date, the stolen vehicle was located in White, GA, and a traffic stop was conducted. 

The occupants of the vehicle, Christopher Chase Bennett, 31, of Cartersville, and Haley Partin, 24, of White, were placed under arrest and transported to the Cartersville Police Department for further questioning. 

While at the police department, Mr. Bennett escaped custody by exiting through a malfunctioning door and fled the area. A short time later, Cartersville Police and Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Mr. Bennett and he was taken into custody behind a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, without incident.

Mr. Bennett was charged with Armed Robbery, Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Felony, and Escape by a Person in Custody.

Ms. Partin was charged with Armed Robbery, Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of a Felony, and Battery.
