The Rome Board of Education has approved the contract with the City of Rome for the operation and management of Barron Stadium.
Superintendent Louis Byars went over some of the finer points of the contract.
“This now a two-year agreement with an option for a two-year renewal,” he said. “We’ve created a facilities committee that will facilitate scheduling with the city, the office of tourism, and our athletic directors here. They will coordinate the scheduling of Barron Stadium. We are also being asked to report quarterly to the city general administration committee on expenses and rentals we have.”
The agreement will now go to the Rome City Commission for approval.
