Firefighters in Cherokee County, Alabama responded to a chicken house fire Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived at the farm on County Road 32 to find one of the six chicken houses on the property on fire.

The fire appeared to have started near the middle of the structure and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, by containing it to that portion of the building, and protecting the 60,000 young birds inside, each being around two weeks old.

It’s believed that the fire began due to an electrical problem; however, the cause has yet to be determined.
