Man charged with aggravated assault

A 23-year-old Rome man was arrested early Sunday after he allegedly put a gun to another victim’s head and threatened to kill him.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Lary Lorenzo Lopez-Pelico is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

The incident occurred at his residence on Kirton Street.

Man accused of damaging grandmother’s property

A Rome man was jailed over the weekend on a felony warrant charging him with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

According to the warrant:

20-year-old Dravus Chaise Christian Dupree damaged multiple pieces of furniture in every room of his grandmother’s apartment on Lyons Drive, along with food items from the refrigerator.

The incident occurred on March 14.

Dupree is also charged with two counts of simple battery.

Report: Woman caught driving vehicle reported stolen by her grandmother

A Cedartown woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Friday on charges of felony theft by shoplifting and theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

33-year-old Magan Nicole Knight was driving a stolen 2012 Lincoln MKZ valued at $6,000.

The vehicle belongs to Knight’s grandmother.

Man facing drug charges

The execution of a search warrant on North Broad Street recently ended with the arrest of a Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Jeremy Michael Dean had a quantity of methamphetamine packaged for resale in his pants pocket.

Once at the jail, Dean tried to dispose of a syringe containing meth in a cell toilet.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of items prohibited for inmates.

Lindale man arrested for auto theft

A 65-year-old Rome man was jailed recently on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking a motor vehicle.

According to the warrant:

Charles Garry Ingram took the victim’s vehicle from a location on Flannery Street back on June 1.

The warrant did not specify the make and model of the vehicle.
