Pedestrian killed on I-75 in Gordon County

-Georgia State Patrol-

The Georgia State Patrol responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on I-75 in Gordon County Saturday.

According to the GSP:

The incident occurred at around 12:08 p.m. near mile marker 310.

78-year-old Oscar George Washam of Cobb County had pulled over onto the shoulder of the interstate and was outside of his vehicle, in the right lane of travel, securing a loose pipe that was hanging from his camper trailer.

A tractor-trailer then struck Washam, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Gordon County Coroner.
