Suspect in robberies remains jailed
Additional details have been released regarding the arrest of a Rome man on December 22 in connection with armed robberies in North Rome and West Rome.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
53-year-old Edward Louis Crowder robbed the North Broad Food Mart on December 4 by pointing a firearm at the clerk and demanding money from the cash register.
On December 18, Crowder robbed the Redmond Food Mart using a fake, plastic rifle.
The following day, he robbed the Chastain Regency liquor store on North Broad Street at gunpoint, taking $700 from the register.
Crowder remains jailed without bond on four counts of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, single counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a probation violation.
Woman charged with theft by receiving, possession of drugs at jail
A Rome woman has been arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule V controlled substance, possession of pills not in the original container, and possession of drugs past the guard line at the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
31-year-old Raven Symone Wiggins had four Gabapentin pills that were not in a pill bottle.
Wiggins was originally arrested on West Ninth Street after stealing mail belonging to the victim.
The package contained a blood-glucose monitor, valued at $150.
She is additionally charged with theft by receiving, and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.
24-year-old Tatyana Dashawn Brown of Rome was also arrested in the theft.
She is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by taking and criminal trespass.
Man charged in 2022 theft
A Temple, Georgia man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
47-year-old Joey Brian Robinson took a homemade trailer and an air compressor from a location on Alabama Highway on April 6, 2022.
The combined value of the items was listed at more than $5,000.
