Traffic stop leads to meth trafficking arrest
A traffic stop for a vehicle with suspended registration led to methamphetamine trafficking charges being filed against a Garden Lakes man on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
52-year-old Gary Don Holmes was found to have a suspended license due to a prior conviction.
A K9 free air sniff was conducted during the traffic stop resulting in a vehicle search that turned up approximately 90 grams of suspected methamphetamine and eight packages of a medicine used to treat skin conditions that was not prescribed to Holmes.
He is also charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and a brake light violation.
Woman charged with possession of meth
A passenger in a vehicle stopped by police for failure to maintain a lane on Redmond Circle near Shorter Avenue is charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A digital scale and unknown white pills were located following a K9 indication.
Once at the jail, 32-year-old Sherry Marie Brooks was found with methamphetamine.
She is additionally charged with crossing the guard line with drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drugs not in the original container, and possession of drug-related objects.
One arrested following the execution of a search warrant in Garden Lakes
The execution of a search warrant at a home on Garden Lakes Boulevard ended with the arrest of a Rome woman on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Courtney Lynn Howell was found in possession of a bag of suspected methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and digital scales.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
