Charges have been filed against the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Broad Street and East Sixth Avenue on Wednesday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year old Heather Marie Erb of Rome was under the influence of prescription drugs when she hit the pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian crossing sign was on.
The 74-year old man sustained fractures as a result of being struck by the vehicle.
Erb is charged with a felony count of serious injury by vehicle and misdemeanor counts of DUI and failure to yield the right of way to a crosswalk.
