Man accused of throwing a vehicle jack handle at a woman
A Rome man was recently arrested at his East Second Street residence on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
According to the warrant:
49-year-old Randall Dale Jenkins II threw a large metal object—a vehicle jack handle—at a woman as she was in a vehicle, trying to leave.
The object smashed through the driver’s side window and struck the victim, who sustained a laceration to the left side of her head. She also lost part of her ear.
Man accused of stealing gun, vehicle during burglaries
A 29-year-old Rome man is facing multiple charges in a couple of incidents that occurred in March.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Dakota Joseph Godfrey entered a residence on Old Summerville Road where he damaged a gun cabinet and stole a Ruger pistol.
Godfrey, who is a convicted felon, also damaged the garage door and took a 1995 Honda CR-V.
He also went to a residence on McGrady Road and would not leave.
He had been warned to stay away from the property back in 2022.
He is charged with 1st-degree burglary, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felony and misdemeanor theft by taking, two counts of criminal trespass, and three probation violations.
Man charged with burglary, exploitation of the elderly
A Silver Creek man, already in the Floyd County Jail for a probation violation, is accused of breaking into an elderly couple’s garage on Old Cedartown Road in Lindale back in February of 2024.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
41-year-old Christopher Daniel Pruitt stole an air compressor from the garage.
Pruitt is also facing charges in a break-in on Flora Avenue in which he forcefully booted the door of the victim’s laundry room and entered it with the intent to commit a theft.
He is charged with two counts of 2nd-degree burglary, two counts of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly, theft by taking, and criminal trespass.
Pruitt is also charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle for driving off in a woman’s Hyundai Sonata on Garden Lakes Boulevard, and evading police.
Silver Creek woman facing additional drug charges
Two Silver Creek women who were arrested on Tuesday after allegedly selling 28 grams of methamphetamine to a cooperating police witness are facing additional charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
60-year old Cindy Michelle Waits was found with 3 grams of meth and Gabapentin pills on May 20 at a location on Shorter Avenue.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drugs not in the original container.
Meanwhile, 54-year old Wanda Michelle Davenport was found with 54 grams of meth, packaged for resale.
She is charged with trafficking, possession, and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
