Man charged with felony obstruction of law enforcement
A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend after allegedly resisting arrest during a traffic stop on East Third Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
23-year-old Elias Felipe Perez-Rivera was stopped for suspicion of driving under the influence and then violently resisted.
Perez-Rivera is charged with two counts of felony obstruction, misdemeanor obstruction, simple battery, simple battery against a law enforcement officer, and DUI.
Report: Woman discarded meth to avoid arrest
A West Rome woman was arrested on a felony methamphetamine possession charge on North Broad at Callahan Street on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
62-year-old Lula Ann Whittenberry was found with a crystal-like substance and three glass smoking devices.
She then attempted to discard the suspected methamphetamine in an attempt to prevent apprehension.
Whittenberry is also charged with tampering with evidence, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.
Two arrested on drug charges
Two people were arrested over the weekend on drug charges following a traffic stop on Chulio at Nichols Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 23-year-old Brian Keefe Mann of Silver Creek was stopped for a seat belt violation.
He was also charged with driving while unlicensed.
Police found a THC vape pen, a jar of THC “dab,” a glass smoking device, and less than an ounce of marijuana.
Mann and 23-year-old Louis Anthony Souder III were both charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Teen charged with theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle
A 17-year-old from Trenton, Georgia, was booked into the Floyd County Jail Saturday on a felony count of theft by receiving stolen property.
According to jail records:
Jonathan Daniel Plaster was found in possession of a 1999 GMC pickup truck at a location on Shorter Avenue in Rome.
The truck, which had been reported stolen in Trenton on June 13, is valued at $4,500.
Report: Man struck woman, stole her possessions
A Turner Chapel Road man was jailed over the weekend on a felony count of theft by taking and a misdemeanor charge of battery.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
63-year-old Mark Jeffery Breakbill struck a woman multiple times with his fists and elbows.
The victim sustained bruises on her arms and face along with a busted lip.
Breakbill then took two bags containing jewelry and cell phones, plus a jacket, with a combined value of $3,000.
He is also charged with aggravated stalking for breaking the terms of his conditional bond by having contact with the victim.
Report: Woman found attached to fence….Without pants on
A 48-year-old Rome woman is facing a misdemeanor public indecency charge following her arrest on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Diane Elaine Taylor was found in a state of partial or complete nudity at a location on Greenleaf Avenue.
Specifically, Taylor was attached to a chain link fence without pants on.
