The Rome Alcohol Control Commission has approved a beer and wine pouring license for a new restaurant in West Rome.
The owner and manager of The Best at 613 Shorter Avenue told the ACC that he is remodeling the building and plans to open a fusion-style restaurant specializing in Indian and Mexican food.
It will have around 80 seats and be open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to midnight.
Although the business would not be required to meet Rome’s food/drink ratio since there will be no sales of distilled spirits, if they want to pour on Sunday, they will be required to meet the state-mandated food/drink ratio.
Also during this week’s ACC meeting, a beer package license for stores at 1416 North Broad Street and 1928 Shorter Avenue were both tabled.
A beer package license for the Food Mart at 2000 North Broad Street was approved, while the ACC took no action on a package license for 1439 North Broad Street.
