Woman charged with cocaine trafficking
A Rome woman is facing a cocaine trafficking charge following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on South Elm Street.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
29 grams of cocaine was located in the home, along with 149 grams of marijuana, 10 bottles of promethazine, clonazepam pills, a digital scale, and packaging materials.
31-year-old Staci Marie Robinson, who is a convicted felon, also had a firearm in her bedroom.
She is also charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Report: Man wrecks while fleeing from police
A West Rome man is facing multiple charges following a high-speed chase that started on Highway 53 at Pierce Hill Road on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
An officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Wayne Ewerthon Ambrocio-Perez for speeding.
Ambrocio-Perez sped up, eventually reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour while swerving between vehicles.
The pursuit came to an end after Ambrocio-Perez wrecked into two other vehicles on Highway 27 at East 12th Street.
Several containers of alcohol were located inside the vehicle, and a 20-year old passenger had also been drinking.
Ambrocio-Perez was medically cleared at the hospital and then taken to jail on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude, driving under the influence, underage furnishing of alcohol, open container, speeding, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A North Rome man is charged with aggravated assault following an incident at his Pearl Street residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
59-year-old Dimetrius Dupree approached a 68-year-old man in a violent manner while holding a knife.
Dupree is additionally charged with a parole violation.
Warrant: Man found with a pound-and-a-half of marijuana
A local man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
According to the warrant:
37-year-old Michael Sylvester Dennis was found with a pound-and-a-half of marijuana during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Pennington Avenue back on April 2.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrests
Two Lindale residents were arrested following a traffic stop at Maple Avenue at Worsham Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
51-year old Oliver Watkins Ashley II was stopped for a brake light violation and was charged with possession of methamphetamine after suspected meth was located following a K9 indication.
A passenger, 42-year-old Misti Ann Smith, threw a ziplock bag out of the window.
It contained meth, a marijuana pipe, and a used hypodermic syringe.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and tampering with evidence.
Tallapoosa man charged with meth possession
A Tallapoosa man was arrested on drug charges after being stopped for a seat belt violation on Highway 101 at Lombardy Way.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
51-year old Robert Shane Walker was found with suspected methamphetamine and was charged with possession of meth.
