Woman arrested for possessing heroin, alprazolam
A Coosa woman is facing drug charges following her arrest on Wednesday at her Lynn Avenue apartment.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
41-year-old Amanda Darlene Day was found in possession of two syringes with suspected heroin on July 10.
She also had 44 pills, suspected to be alprazolam.
Day is charged with possession of a Schedule I and Schedule IV controlled substance.
Man charged with theft, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
A stolen firearm lands a 48-year-old Rome man behind bars.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Todd Mitchell Gillams was in possession of a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber pistol that he should have known had been stolen.
On July 3, he and another person went to a pawn shop on Shorter Avenue, where he sold the firearm for $100.
Gillams is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, theft by deception, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
