Two arrested for possession of fentanyl

Two South Rome residents were arrested on Shorter Avenue on Sunday on charges of possession of fentanyl.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

47-year-old Jennifer Paige Mathis-Fisher is additionally charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

44-year-old Dustin Blake Ginocchio is additionally charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug-related objects.

Coosa man found with drugs at jail

A Coosa man is accused of having alprazolam after being taken to the Floyd County Jail.

According to jail records:

Officers were executing a warrant for 37-year-old James Thomas Lewis Jr. at a location on Cave Spring Road.

He permitted officers to search a bag he had.

The vacuum-sealed bag contained suspected marijuana and a digital scale.

Lewis admitted that he was at the location to sell marijuana.

Once at the jail, three alprazolam pills were located inside a prescription bottle not prescribed to him.

Lewis is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drugs by an inmate, and a probation violation.

Man facing charges after reportedly striking a paramedic

An East Rome man is accused of striking a paramedic in the face at a location on Redmond Road on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

56-year-old Michael Thomas Dixon is charged with a felony count of interference with an emergency medical professional by use of violence.

He is also charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

The paramedic suffered a visible injury to his mouth after being hit.

Alabama man arrested for being a fugitive

A Huntsville, Alabama, man is facing a felony fugitive from justice charge following his arrest at Highway 27 North and Highway 156 in the Armuchee area on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

21-year-old Dequez Daysean Henderson was found to be wanted by Alabama authorities during a traffic stop.

He is also charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop for a brake light violation at East Second Avenue and Turner McCall Boulevard ended with the arrest of a Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Antonio Demoel Creamer was found with a THC oil container and an amphetamine pill which were located during a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Creamer said someone gave him the THC oil, but admitted the pill was his.

He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of amphetamine, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and driving with suspended registration.
