Two charged with aggravated animal cruelty

A Lindale man and a Trion woman were jailed Tuesday on two felony counts each of aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to Floyd County Jail records and the arrest warrants:

18-year-old Jayce Alan Lee Atkins and 18-year-old Amelia Rose Boston failed to provide adequate food and water for two dogs at an apartment on Callier Springs Road.

Both dogs were found in a severely emaciated condition.

Man accused of hitting, threatening woman

A Rome man was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and terroristic threats and acts following an incident on Compton Road in Silver Creek on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year-old Randall Rayford Davenport Jr. hit a woman in the mouth with such force it busted her lip and knocked a tooth loose.

He also threatened to take the victim outside and hurt her, stating that no one would stop him.

Davenport is also being held for a probation violation.

Woman charged with possession of a controlled substance

A North Rome woman is facing a felony count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance following her arrest on Tuesday.

According to an arrest warrant:

36-year-old Mandy Nicole Vasser was found with THC gummies during the execution of a search warrant at her home on Highland Street on September 18.
