Northwest Georgia WINDS will open its 2025-2026 season with a free concert tonight at the Rome City Auditorium.
‘Return of Creepy Classics’ begins at 7 p.m., according to WINDS Director Sam Baltzer.
“We’re calling the concert ‘Return to Creepy Classics’ because in 2013, we did a ‘Creepy Classics’ concert, and it was a big hit,” he said. “It was a lot of fun, and people enjoyed it very much. We did another one in 2014 that we called ‘The Bride of Creepy Classics.’ Then we didn’t do another one for 12 years, so we figured it was time to bring that theme back.”
The concert is expected to last about an hour.
“We are doing music from Jurassic Park, from Harry Potter, from Addams Family, from Phantom of the Opera, from Wicked, and from Ghostbusters,” Baltzer said. “All of those movies that were kind of lighthearted, but still had a little bit of a cringe factor at times, so just a lot of wonderful music that people will recognize.”
Special guests include Indra Thomas, Maryann Kyle, Chase Johnston, Russell Evans, Sarah Warden, Sophie Caveney, and the Pepperell High School choir.
Again, the concert is free and open to the public.
