Details have been released concerning a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Rome man that occurred just after midnight on June 29.
According to a Rome Police Department report:
A 2025 Nissan Sentra, driven by 19-year-old Dominic Mason Lugo, was traveling south on Old Summerville Road near Hennon Drive.
The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, began to skid, and traveled off the roadway.
It struck a power pole and began to rotate before hitting a telephone pole and traveling into a ditch.
The Nissan continued to rotate and struck a tree.
Lugo was unresponsive when first responders arrived on the scene and the coroner was called.
