The Rome City Commission has conducted its yearly evaluation of the Rome City Manager and is recommending that Sammy Rich be retained for 2026.
“We recommended a 4 percent salary increase for next year,” said Rome Mayor Craig McDaniel. “He will be recommended for retention for 2026. Overall, his evaluation was very, very good.”
The Rome City Manager is an appointed municipal official who carries out the administrative and executive duties of our city government
Rich has worked in local and state government since 1998.
He previously held the position of Assistant City Manager for Rome, Georgia, Assistant County Manager for Floyd County, County Planner for Carroll County, and Urban Planning Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Rich is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and holds both a B.S. in Geography and Planning and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of West Georgia.
Additionally, he is involved in numerous professional organizations, including the Georgia City-County Managers’ Association and the International City-County Management Association.
