Man charged with aggravated assault, child cruelty
A Summerville Park man is accused of assaulting a woman in front of a minor at his Battey Drive residence on Tuesday of this week.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
38-year-old Mykell Edward Marshall used his hands to strangle a woman.
This was done in the presence of a 1-year-old child.
Marshall is charged with aggravated assault and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Man charged with 2nd-degree burglary
A West Rome man has been arrested in a reported burglary at a Shorter Avenue business.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
45-year-old Timothy Terry Smith Jr. walked into Enterprise Rental and took a key to a Jeep Wagoneer and then walked out without renting the vehicle.
He walked around the parking lot, and authorities believe he intended to take the vehicle, valued at $100,000.
Smith is charged with 2nd-degree burglary.
