The Georgia Department of Public Safety reports that 12 people died on the state’s highways during the Memorial Day holiday travel period.
One of those crashes was investigated by Troop A in Northwest Georgia and occurred on Sunday morning on Hamilton Crossing in Cartersville.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that 24-year-old Cynthia Moore of Cartersville died after her Dodge Durango struck a GMC Acadia, traveling east in the right lane.
The Durango then crossed through the median, rotated, and collided with a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
The Durango overturned onto its passenger side.
Moore died at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the Toyota Land Cruiser were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
