Report: Man doused woman’s eye with bleach
A Rome man was arrested on Monday following a reported assault at his Greer Drive residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Kirstin Nicholas Gordon doused a woman’s eyes with bleach and used his hands to strangle her.
He also scratched the woman, leaving marks on her.
Gordon and the victim share the residence and have a child together.
He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and aggravated battery.
Man accused of neglecting goat
A Rome man was arrested on Monday and charged with a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the arrest warrant:
30-year-old Stephen Robert Jones kept a goat tied to a runner with a chain around its neck at his Maple Road residence and failed to provide adequate care for the animal.
Due to the lack of care, the goat got tangled up in the chain and was found hanging from a concrete wall.
The chain had become embedded in the goat’s neck, causing a gaping wound.
Jones also failed to provide medical attention for the animal.
Woman charged with child cruelty
A West Rome woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Monday on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children and battery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Tan’Niya Jakeise Letaye Howard caused substantial bodily harm to a juvenile.
The report did not go into specifics regarding the age of the victim or the nature of the physical harm.
The incident occurred at a location on Watters Street in North Rome.
Woman accused of violating conditional bond
A Coosa woman was arrested on Monday on charges of aggravated stalking and battery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Emily Louise Itson violated a conditional bond by striking the victim in the head during a domestic altercation on July 25.
Woman charged with possession of a controlled substance
A West Rome woman is facing drug charges following her arrest on Monday on Second Avenue at West Third Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Rashonda Monique Jackson was found with a substance that was labeled as cannabis.
She is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
