Woman facing child cruelty charge
North Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to the warrant:
48-year-old Amanda Ellino Moore allowed a child to live in the home on North Broad Street in deplorable conditions.
The child’s room was covered in trash, toys, old food, and what appeared to be dirty clothing.
There was broken furniture, torn mattresses, holes in the walls, and animal waste throughout the residence.
Two arrested on drug charges
Two East Rome men were arrested during the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Clifford Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
49-year-old James Lydell Meredith was found with THC wax, a THC vape pen and marijuana.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Meanwhile, 57-year-old David Lee Gilmore was found with methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.
Man accused of having marijuana at jail
A Rome man, initially arrested on traffic charges, is also charged with a felony count of possession of drugs across the guard line at the jail.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
48-year-old Ricky Babe Session Jr. was driving without a driver’s license and without a license plate when he was stopped on Maple Avenue at East 16th Street.
Once at the jail, he was found with suspected marijuana.
Session is also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving without insurance, driving while unlicensed, and a license plate violation.
