The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Floyd, Gordon, Chattooga, Bartow, and Polk Counties from 1 a.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The advisory is also in effect for Cherokee County, Alabama.
We could see a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain with total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch.
Plan on slippery road conditions.
The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
Winter Storm Warning for extreme Northwest Georgia Counties
Meanwhile, further north, a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Dade, Walker, Whitfield, and Catoosa Counties, also from 1 a.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected with snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch.
Plan on slippery road conditions that could impact the morning or evening commute.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
