Floyd County Jail Records –

  • Two Rome men were booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday in connection with a stolen vehicle and the discovery of explosive devices. According to Floyd County Jail records and arrest affidavits, 56-year-old Daryl Wayne Stamey Sr. is accused of allegedly stealing a 2005 Nissan Altima, valued at $5,000, from the Circle K on Cartersville Highway earlier this year on May 24th.  During a search of Stamey’s Hull Avenue residence, Rome Police reportedly found 22 explosive devices made from a chemical compound capable of causing injury or property damage. Stamey is being charged with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle and 22 felony counts of manufacture, distribution, and possession with intent to distribute explosive devices. Also arrested was 75-year-old Mickey Dale Dempsey Sr., who is also accused of being involved in the same vehicle theft. Dempsey is being charged with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle.
  • A 32-year-old Duluth man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday in connection with a theft involving construction equipment. According to Floyd County Jail records, Bray Tyronne Johnson allegedly conspired with four co-conspirators to fraudulently rent a Ford T250 flatbed truck and a JLG 50-foot boom lift from Home Depot. Johnson then reportedly attempted to sell both pieces of equipment, falsely representing them as his own property. Johnson is being charged with felony theft by conversion, felony theft by deception, felony party to a crime, and theft by taking a motor vehicle.
  • A 36-year-old Silver Creek man was arrested Tuesday after a broken taillight led Floyd County Police to discover a firearm with an altered serial number. According to Floyd County Jail records, officers stopped Damaris Deunte Stevenson on Ga. 20 at the Ga. 1 Loop after noticing the taillight on his vehicle was broken. During the stop, police allegedly found a .22 caliber handgun with its serial number scratched off. Stevenson, a convicted felon, is charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark.
