The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a bid for a bridge construction project in Polk County.
The work will include the bridge and approaches on Everett Road over Simpson Creek, southwest of Rockmart.
CMES, Inc. of Norcross was the low bidder at just over $2.6 million.
The anticipated completion date is October 31, 2026.
