-Staff reports-

A Gordon County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a man arrested in a fatal shooting and arson in Resaca that occurred back in February.

The charges in the indictment against Christopher Lee Dixon include malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, first degree criminal damage to property, terroristic threats, false imprisonment, simple battery, two counts of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, two different charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of third degree cruelty to children, four counts of aggravated assault, and five counts of obstruction of an officer.

The Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting on James Street on February 4 and found the home engulfed in flames.

The body of 80-year-old Ronald Bramblett was later discovered inside the residence.

According to the GBI:

The next day, Dixon was found underneath a trailer in a crawl space, and Georgia troopers attempted to remove Dixon from the crawl space.

The troopers used a Taser, but Dixon continued to fight with them.

During the struggle, the troopers shot Dixon, who was armed with a rifle.

After Dixon was shot, he continued to fight the troopers and resist arrest.

He was eventually taken into custody.
